The Georgetown University Club Racquetball Team is for all Georgetown undergraduate and graduate students that are interested in playing club racquetball. This is a student run team focused on creating a fun, social, and organized racquetball team that competes against other club teams throughout the country. There are practices, ladder matches, intercollegiate matches, round robins, and trips to area tournaments. We are a coed club for casual and competitive play. Play can be very competitive as there are regional and national events throughout the year. Since the club's founding in 2007, we have played competitive matches against GW and have hosted other intraclub events.
We practice two days/week (usually Tues/Thurs 9-11 PM at Yates Field House). On Tuesdays we work on relevant technique, strategy, and fitness through different exercises. On Thursdays match play is encouraged, with an emphasis on the skills learned during Tuesday's practice. Ladder matches outside of practices are encouraged, as they determine placement on the team and at interclub events. Practice times and events are flexible based on the rigor of students' schedules although a 1-2 hour commitment/week is expected.
The team currently has 20 members that play regularly on the 2 courts at Yates Field House.
We are excited to welcome Hoyas of all levels of ability and interest! We will teach you how to play or help you become a better racquetball competitor. Come try this fun indoor, racquet sport!
