The Georgetown Players seek to live out our motto: Building Community Through the Arts. We are devoted to building community through theater that makes a difference both on and off campus. The Improvisational Group uses improvisational comedy as a positive force at Georgetown and beyond. The goal of the Improv Group is to bring people together through laughter. The proceeds from our improvisational comedy shows fund the other half of the Georgetown Players, our Children’s Theater Company. The Children’s Theater Company uses theater as a means of community service. The Children’s Theater Company seeks to perform in schools in the Washington, DC area where children might not otherwise be exposed to theater. The Theater Company also performs at other off-campus venues where theater brings smiles to the faces of the sick and the struggling, the young and the old. Together, the Georgetown Players Improvisational Group and the Georgetown Players Children’s Theater Troupe truly work to “Build Community Through the Arts.”
