On the Docket

The words engraved in the marble relief at the front entrance to the Supreme Court read: Equal Justice Under Law. We welcome your presence and hope that you will join Georgetown University’s one and only Supreme Court society, On the Docket.

On the Docket is established in order to promote an understanding of the constitutional legal system primarily through attendance at Supreme Court hearings and discussion of the history and merits of relevant cases currently before the Court.

D.C. is an amazing city with many resources and opportunities. Yet, no extracurricular at Georgetown takes advantage of one of Washington’s premier political hot spots: the U.S. Supreme Court. On the Docket was established in order to promote an understanding of the U.S. Constitutional legal system and the Supreme Court through:

• Discussion of history and merits of relevant cases before the Court
• Lectures and speakers relevant to cases
• Moot court argumentation & debate
• Attendance at Supreme Court oral arguments
