Georgetown University Multi-and Bi-racial Organization (GUMBO) is dedicated to providing an environment for students from multiple ethnic or cultural backgrounds to connect. We welcome people from all backgrounds, as we wouldn't exist without all of you.
GUMBO holds an annual Bone Marrow-thon to increase the number of minorities in the donor registry. Generally, matches are found among those from similar ethnic backgrounds. Currently, the number of minorities in the registry is very small, making it difficult for minorities to obtain bone marrow transplants if a family member is not a match. Bi-and multi-racial individuals account for only 2% of the total registry. The 2009 Bone Marrow-thon will be held from March 25th-26th, 11a.m.-5 p.m. in Village C Alumni Lounge, and the Bone Marrow Information Session will be held on March 24th at 8 p.m in ICC 211B.
GUMBO's "Everyone loves a mixed Hoya" shirts are still on sale for $10! Check out the design under photos and email georgetown.gumbo@gmail.com to place an order!
