The Student Activities Commission recognized GIA as a student organization in 1999. GIA is the sole organization dedicated to uniting and broadening the pro-Israel voice at Georgetown.
GIA provides a forum for the exchange of ideas concerning the social, political, and cultural affairs of Israel. The organization seeks to raise awareness on campus of Israeli current events and to increase knowledge and understanding of Middle East issues.
GIA’s programming cultivates a positive understanding and awareness of the State of Israel’s challenges and accomplishments within the larger student body. Specifically, GIA focuses on increasing the understanding of the complexity of Israeli society and initiatives for peace and security. The organization builds love and respect for Israel among Jewish and non-Jewish students while developing “pro-Israel” leaders.
GIA maintains unique partnerships with the student body as well as professional and community organizations.
