Nina Shi (SFS '10), Co-PresidentBorn in Dalian, China, Nina has lived in both Spain and Canada before moving to the United States for middle school. She is currently a junior in the SFS (according to her, the best school at Georgetown) and is majoring in International Economics so she can be rich like a good Asian girl. She is an avid fan of Korean dramas, the color purple (the actual color, not the book/movie), and cured Italian meats. Her favorite past time is curling up with a good romantic novel and dreaming of being whisked away by her Prince Charming.
Kevin "Fishy" Wang (COL '10), Co-PresidentKevin was born in China, but now currently resides in the small chunk of heaven on Earth, otherwise known as sunny Southern California. When he is not trying to save the world, he enjoys traveling, participating in sports (the more extreme the better), eating ethnic foods, and enjoying the simple pleasures of life. At Georgetown, he is a Government and Psychology double major. In addition to CSA, he also is involved in the Georgetown University Student Association, the GU Ping Pong Club, the Peer Education Empowerment Program (PEEP), and the Georgetown University Scholarship Program. Kevin loves meeting new people so don’t hesitate to introduce yourself and challenge him to a Rock Band Wii duel.
Jenny "Kiwi" Leung (MSB '10), Co-Vice PresidentJennifer, affectionately known as “Jenny”, was born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, but calls Ellicott City, Maryland her hometown. Jenny is a junior in the MSB, planning to double major in International Business and Marketing. She is currently studying Mandarin and Korean, and hopes to resurrect her Spanish from its grave in the future. She is involved in the Chamber Music Program at Georgetown and plays the piano and violin. She is athletic (to an extent) and likes to swim, play rugby, and dance. Don’t be afraid to approach her and introduce yourself! She’s very enthusiastic and likes to make new friends. She’s an avid fan of Korean dramas, gourmet shops, and buys too many school supplies.
Pak to “Pakman” Wong (COL ’09), Co-Vice PresidentPak to was born in Hong Kong, but by no means does he follow the island’s fast pace lifestyle. Laid back and easy going, he would rather spend all day hanging out at the beach, going out with his friends all night, and then finally sleeping. At Georgetown, however, he majors in economics and is involved with Georgetown University’s Student Investment Fund. When Pak to is not busy trying to make a profit, he can be found lounging on the Leavey Esplanade, moshing at the 9:30 Club, or cheering for the Hoyas at basketball games.
Liz "HRH Princess Liz of Wales" An (COL'10), Treasurer
Although Liz grew up in Virginia, she has not lost her taste for her birth country’s food, surviving finals by eating delicious Korean snacks. She is a Math, Psychology, and Asian Studies major. With all that she is studying, it is a wonder how she has time to devote to getting CSA its necessary funds and watching her favorite shows including Grey’s Anatomy, Gossip Girl, and Korean dramas. After Georgetown, Liz plans to be a doctor, or better yet, to be married to Prince William.
Sherry Lin (COL '11), SecretarySherry, born in New Rochelle, New York and currently resides in Scarsdale, New York, is not afraid to let it be known her immense pride for her state. On campus, you will most certainly be able to find Sherry either at Leo’s or in one of the 4th floor cubicles in Lau. Besides inhaling chicken fingers and rosemary wedges at Leo’s or consuming the best burgers in DC at Good Stuff Eatery, Sherry’s other hobbies include skiing, Chopin Nocturnes, and getting hounded by Vanessa to turn in this biography information. Just like Remy (the rat from her favorite movie, Ratatouille) Sherry enjoys good cuisine and good company. We dare you to challenge her to an eating contest!
Wai Yean Leung (COL '09), SOCA RepresentativeWai, born in New York City and then growing up in Flushing, Queens, is a true New Yorker. With his high standards, he only brings out the best from the rest of the CSA board. At Georgetown he is an Economics major, but aspires to be a chef. Not only does he enjoy cooking food, but also loves eating it! When he is not studying (or eating for that matter), he can be found on the Car Barn balcony gazing out onto the Potomac, on campus just gazing at the beautiful students that walk by, or just napping. In addition to CSA, he is also involved in the Student of Color Alliance, the Asian American Student Association, and Flip Dis Funk Dat.
Joanna "JoJo" Huang (MSB '11), Underclass LiaisonJoanna is from Valdosta, Georgia and is proud to represent the “dirtty South” on the CSA board. As a Finance and International Business double major, she hopes to use the skills she learns in the classroom to eventually buy her own island. In the mean time, other than being a devoted CSA parent and organizing all the fun family activities, she is involved in Alpha Kappa Psi (the business fraternity), the Financial Management Association, Flip Dis Funk Dat, and Hoya Blue. Whether you see her on the second floor of Lau studying or in line for Philly’s on a Saturday evening, don’t hesitate to go up to her and ask to join a family!
Kathy "KG" Gu (MSB '09), Senior AdvisorKathy was born in Shanghai, but grew up in New York. Although she is studying in DC, her favorite place to hang out is still Union Square. When she can’t get up to NYC, you can probably spot her at Yates playing volleyball, in downtown DC museum hopping, or furiously organizing things. Although CSA keeps her busy, she also manages to edit “The Fire This Time” and play for GU Club Volleyball. Come finals, Kathy cannot be found because no one knows where her favorite study place is, but maybe you can coax her out from hiding with an iced vanilla coffee from Midnight Mug.
Jane Chiao (MSB '10), Senior Advisor
Lula Chen (SFS '10), Community Service Chair
Vanessa "Vanny" Lee ( MSB '11), Marketing ChairVanessa was born in Thailand and subsequently moved all around Asia before finally residing in New Jersey (just like everyone else on Georgetown’s campus). As a Marketing and Finance double major and Chinese minor, she hopes to retire by the age of 40. Besides making colorful flyers and posters for CSA’s events, she is involved in Hilltop Consultants and the Undergraduate Marketing Association. In her spare time you can find her out on Copley Lawn, stalking her favorite band, The Kooks, or at the second row on the non-PEP band side at the Verizon Center, of course cheering Hoya Saxa!
